ABOUT US

Griffith Park Bujinkan (BujinkanGP) started in 2017 to give Franklin Canyon Bujinkan members a second location to train. The goal was to provide more opportunities for students to practice and prepare for advanced training in Japan. This additional location helps members maintain consistent practice schedules and gain exposure to various training environments.

The instructors at Griffith Park Bujinkan hold licenses from Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi, the founder and Grandmaster of the international Bujinkan martial arts organization based in Japan. These instructors regularly travel to Japan and other countries to train directly with Hatsumi Sensei, the Japanese Dai Shihan, and other senior Bujinkan teachers. Their ongoing training ensures they pass down authentic techniques and teachings to students here.

The original training group, Franklin Canyon Bujinkan (BujinkanFC), was founded in 2012 by Sensei David Greenberg. Sensei Greenberg brings decades of experience in Japanese martial arts, having trained and taught extensively both in Japan and abroad. His deep connection to the Bujinkan tradition helped build a strong foundation for the local martial arts community.

Griffith Park Bujinkan continues this tradition by offering serious students a place to learn authentic samurai and ninja combat systems. Classes cover a wide range of skills, including unarmed self-defense, flexible weapons, sword techniques, and more. The training focuses not only on physical skill but also on discipline, awareness, and respect for the art’s rich history.

Whether you are new or experienced, Griffith Park Bujinkan offers a welcoming environment to grow your martial arts journey under highly qualified instructors. We invite dedicated practitioners to join and experience the depth and richness of Bujinkan training.
